Tom Brady's final Super Bowl victory, Super Bowl LV was one of the most exciting games to date, and right after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured their second world title the site was updated in a matter of minutes. (Spoiler Alert: we had the Cheifs content created also) It was such a serendipitous moment that the Bucs would be the first team in NFL history to win on their home turf as the cannonfire and beach sand elements worked perfectly to commemorate the win.
What made this year different was that we superimposed the winning graphics onto the shirt, hoodie, and jacket to give a bit more depth and realism to the product. We also featured a cap, DVD, locker room towel, Patch Jersey, and team mask since we were still at the height of coronavirus at the time.

The NFL Draft in 2020 was the first ever scheduled for Las Vegas and then COVID-19 rendered it a live-stream event. Needless to say, the focus on magic and illusion still held even though the Draft would be pushed to Las Vegas the following year.
Do you like tight deadlines? How's a few minutes for you? For all 32 picks in the first round and a designer I had worked with would take evens and odds and would make emails, social media posts, banner ads, home page creative, and much more per player announced. Easily the tightest time constrictions I've ever faced as a designer but would do it every year between 2017 through last year.

One Hundred Years of NFL Football! One of my favorite projects and periods for the sport was absolutely NFL100! The league celebrated its centennial year by utilizing the NFL100 logo as their main branding. To really blow it out we created a page that was completely dedicated to celebrating the best players who ever graced the field, we told the story about what it means to be one of America's favorite past times and most importantly what it meant for the fans that have supported the NFL for 100 years!
Capturing the essence of the grittiness of the NFL was always the top focus of these photo shoots. While there was the occasional smile here and there I always aimed for a more stoic and focused approach. So much of the game is determination, mindset, and endurance that I wanted that atmosphere when we captured our models or lay downs. Hard textures like concrete, stadium atmospheres, and corrugated metals always had a backdrop on these sets and locations.
We primarily shot models in our gear up until the coronavirus hit and after a slight pause to freshen our collection of photography, we switched to an all lay flat product approach. After mask mandates lifted and we could go back to shooting models we did a bit of both thereafter. It always served as a good mix for the content clip when displaying these pieces on the homepage, in an email, or featured in that month's social media campaign.
